David Orr Wright

After receiving an AA degree in academic studies, David graduated with a BFA degree from Ringling School of Art in Sarasota, Florida. Wright has worked in many disciplines: as an illustrator, portrait artist, copywriter, an industrial designer, an intaglio plate & printmaker for a New York artist. His continues to enjoy his truest passion, which is experimenting with visual imagery through drawing and painting, and currently maintains a studio in Jupiter, Florida.Until recently, the exhibition of his fine-art work has been limited to a few non-profit venues and educational forums, such as: The Elliot Gallery, Eckerd College; The Cornell Arts Center, Rollins College; Selby Gallery, Ringling School of Art; and Palm Beach Atlantic College. His recent experiments are entitled “Mono (Chromatic) Lisa” and are investigations into how humans are left to process visual information under circumstances where there is little or no experiential reference. As a result, seeing his original work is similar to the experience of a child who might encounter an object for the very first time. Wright’s future plans include a collaboration with select artists to compose an essay entitled, “The Final Manifesto of Art, A Postmodern Treatise on the Construct-Essence, Specity”, an examination of an idea that will expose a fresh perspective on the visible world, which is guaranteed to enlighten both emerging and established artists.
